Outdated Zivver Outlook plugin in your organization causes login failures, SSO errors, or freezing

Do users report failed logins, SSO errors, a “system error” message, or a Zivver add-in that freezes or does not load in Outlook, without another obvious cause? An outdated plugin version is a likely cause, even when the problems look unrelated.

Cause

Zivver ended support for Zivver Office Plugin versions up to and including 6.9.0 on September 23, 2026. The lowest supported version is 6.10.2. An unsupported version can no longer authenticate or load reliably.

Solution

Check the installed version

  1. Open Outlook and go to the Zivver tab.
  2. Click About Zivver.
A new window opens that shows the version numbers.

Is the version 6.10.2 or newer? Then an outdated version is not the cause. Go to Still need help?.

Update the plugin

  1. Update to the latest version with the deployment method of your organization:

Users of the automatically updating installation can also use the update prompt in Outlook.

  2. Ask users to close Outlook completely.

  3. Ask users to start Outlook again.

  4. Does the problem persist? Ask users to close and start Outlook once more. This often solves the problem.

  5. Does the login still fail? Clear the cached credentials and sign in again.

Note
If you need time to schedule the update, users can still send and read Zivver messages in the Zivver WebApp.

For the changes per version, see the release notes.
