Allow pop-ups in Edge/Chrome with Intune

Pop-ups are often blocked by default in modern browsers, but the Zivver OWA add-in requires them to function properly. Using Microsoft Intune, you can configure policies to allow pop-ups in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome across managed devices.

This guide provides a step-by-step approach to enabling pop-ups through Intune, ensuring users can access the necessary functionality while maintaining control over security and user experience.

Procedure

  1. Go to Microsoft Intune Endpoint.
  2. Click Devices.
  3. Click Windows.
  4. Click Configuration.
  5. Click + Create.
  6. Click + New Policy.
  7. Select Platform > Windows 10 and later.
  8. Select Profile type > Settings catalog.
  9. Click Create.
  10. Set a name for your policy Zivver - Allow pop-ups in Edge/Chrome
  11. Click + Add settings.
  12. Add the following configuration settings:
    1. Google Chrome > Content settings > Allow popups on these sites.
    2. Google Chrome > Content settings > Allow popups on these sites > Allow popups on these sites (Device).
    3. Microsoft Edge > Content settings > Allow pop-up windows on specific sites.
    4. Microsoft Edge > Content settings > Allow pop-up windows on specific sites > Allow pop-up windows on specific sites (Device).
  13. Fill the exact URL’s and enable Allow pop-up windows on specific sites for both Google Chrome and Edge.
    1. [*.]office.com
    2. [*.]office365.com
    3. [*.]zivver.com
  14. Click Next.
  15. Assign the policy to your devices.
  16. Click Next.
  17. Click Create.
