Create a mail flow rule in Exchange on premise

If you want to submit sent Zivver messages to the Zivver SMTP Server, you must filter them out for secure delivery.

Prerequisites

Before you create the send connector, be sure you have created an accepted domain, a contact and a send connector.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Exchange Administrative Center (EAC).
  2. Log into EAC as an administrator.
  3. Go to Mail flow in the menu on the left.
  4. Go to Rules.
  5. Click the add button.
  6. Choose Create a new rule....
  7. Give the rule the name Zivver: Assisted Mail Submission.
  8. On the bottom, click on More options....
  9. Under *Apply this rule if..., select A message header... and then matches these text patterns.
  10. Click on *Enter text....
  11. Enter zivver-relay.
  12. Click .
  13. Click on *Enter text patterns....
  14. Enter ..*. (that is 2 dots, 1 asterisk/wildcard, 1 dot).
  15. Click the add button.
  16. Click .
  17. Under *Do the following..., select Redirect the message to... and then these recipients.
  18. Look up the contact person that was created before, then select it.
  19. Click .
  20. Click .
  21. Select for Choose a mode for this rule the option Enforce.
  22. Enable the option Defer the message if rule processing doesn’t complete.
  23. Click .

The Mail Flow Rule is now set.

Make sure that the priority of all existing rules is correct. If the sent message needs to be processed by other rules first:

  • If the rule is for PAMS, make sure that the rule you created for PAMS has a lower priority.
  • The other rules do not have the Stop processing more rules setting active.
