Configure and manage Zivver
Organizational Units
Introduction
With Organizational Units, you can manage multiple units within your Zivver organization. This feature is useful when separate departments operate as their own entities, or when the main organization has one or more sub-organizations.
Are You Using Organizational Units?
Organizational Units are a paid add-on. If you’re interested in using them, please contact your Customer Success Manager or send an email to sales@zivver.com.
To check if your organization is already using Organizational Units, log in with your admin account on the Organizational Units page. If you can’t access this page, your organization is not using Organizational Units.
Create an Organizational Unit
Once your organization has purchased the option to use Organizational Units, you can create them by following these steps:
- Log in to the Zivver WebApp.
- Click
Organization Settings.
- Expand
General.
- Click Organizational units.
- Click the button.
- Enter a name for the Organizational Unit.
- Click the button.
The Organizational Unit is now created. - Optional: To automatically assign accounts to this Organizational Unit based on their domain, follow the steps in Automatically map users to this unit.
- Optional: Repeat these steps for each additional Organizational Unit.
Manage an Organizational Unit
After creating an Organizational Unit, you can configure its settings. These settings only apply to the accounts within the Organizational Unit.
To open the settings of an Organizational Unit:
- Log in to the Zivver WebApp.
- Click
Organization Settings.
- Expand
General.
- Click Organizational units.
- Click the button next to the Organizational Unit you want to manage.
The edit page contains the following sections:
- Basic information (name, branding, and logo)
- Email notifications
- Accounts
- Automatically map users to this unit
- Delete an Organizational Unit
Basic information
The Basic information section contains the name, branding, and logo of the Organizational Unit. This information is visible to recipients of secure messages sent by accounts within the Organizational Unit.
Update the name or branding
- In the Basic information section, update the Organizational unit name and/or the Branding.
Tip
Missing branding?
Don’t see the branding for your Organizational Unit in the list? Contact your Customer Success Manager or create a support case to request a new branding. - Click the button.
The selected branding will now apply to all Zivver messages sent by accounts in this Organizational Unit.
Update the logo
The logo is displayed in the notification emails recipients receive when they get a Zivver message from accounts in this Organizational Unit.
- If no logo has been set yet, drag a file into the logo area or click choose a file to select one.
- To replace an existing logo, click the button below the logo.
- To remove the logo, click the button below the logo.
Email notifications
In the Email Notifications section, you can customize the emails that notify recipients about the Zivver messages sent by this Organizational Unit. You can configure two notifications: New message notification and Introduction to Zivver.
New message notification
This email is sent by default to tell recipients they received a new Zivver message. You can add a custom message to its footer.
- In the Email Notifications section, click the button next to New message notification.
- Select the language for the setup.

Language
The disclaimer you set up will only be added to notification messages in the selected language. Make sure you set a disclaimer for each language you expect your employees to use. - Enter the text you want to add as a disclaimer.

Markdown
You can use Markdown syntax to add formatting to your text. Learn more about Markdown in this guide. - Optional: Click the button to send an example to the email address associated with your admin account.
- Click the button.
The notification message is now saved and will automatically be included in every notification sent by users in this Organizational Unit.
Introduction to Zivver
The introduction email is sent automatically to new recipients along with their first Zivver message.
- In the Email Notifications section, enable the toggle next to Introduction to Zivver.
- Click the button next to Introduction to Zivver.
- Select the language for the setup.
- Enter a Subject.
- Enter your introduction message.
- Optional: Click the button to send an example to the email address associated with your admin account.
- Click the button.
The introduction message is now saved and will automatically be sent to new recipients of Zivver messages sent by users in this Organizational Unit.
Accounts
In the Accounts section, you can manage which accounts belong to this Organizational Unit.
If you’re using the Synctool or CloudSync to synchronize users to Zivver, ensure the synchronization is adding accounts to the correct Organizational Unit. Manual changes to accounts in the Organizational Unit will be overwritten by the Synctool or CloudSync.
Add accounts
- In the Accounts section, click the button.
- Select the accounts you want to add to this Organizational Unit.
- Click the button.
The accounts are now added to the Organizational Unit.
Search accounts
Use the search bar to find an account by name or email. You can also filter the list by account type and status.
Remove accounts
- In the Accounts section, find the account you want to remove.
- Click the button next to the account.
- Confirm by clicking the button.
The account is removed from the Organizational Unit.
Automatically map users to this unit
If your organization uses CloudSync or the Zivver Synctool to automate user provisioning, you can automatically map users to this Organizational Unit using the Automated account provisioning identifier field. Make sure the identifier matches the one configured in your provisioning tool, so users are mapped correctly.
In most cases, the identifier is the domain of the accounts (for example example.com). Optionally, you can use a custom identifier.
- In the Automatically map users to this unit section, enter the identifier in the Automated account provisioning identifier field.
- Click the button.
The Zivver Synctool or CloudSync will now automatically map accounts with this identifier to the Organizational Unit.
Delete an Organizational Unit
To delete an Organizational Unit, click the button at the top of the edit page.
